The UND Observatory and Space Grant Internet Telescope Network (SGITN) are pursuing collaborative possibilties with two other telescope networks, the Sierra Stars Observatory Network and the Hands On Universe, which could potentially expand the number of telescopes that will be accessible to UND students and SGITN users. These collaborations emerged after Dr. Hardersen attended the 2009 Astronomical Society of the Pacific meeting in San Francisco from September 13-16, 2009.

In addition, UND Internet Observatory #3 is expected to go online in October 2009 and become an active part of the SGITN. Work also continues to bring the Small Radio Telescope back online and to improve the radio telescope's pointing characteristics.
