Finnvik Completes Summer Internship at NASA JSC
8/23/2012 Stephanie Finnvik, a first-year on-campus Space Studies graduate student, interned this summer for the Reduced Gravity Education Flight Program in the Education Office at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The RGEFP allows students and educators the opportunity to propose, design, build, fly, and analyze an experiment in microgravity aboard the reduced gravity aircraft. By flying in parabolic maneuvers, the aircraft simulates different levels of gravity from zero, Lunar (1/6 G) to Martian (1/3 G). While at JSC, Stephanie supported flight week activities and worked on program feedback and development. She also developed a Reduced Gravity Alumni Project and assisted with other JSC Education activities including the WISH Program (Women in STEM High School Aerospace Scholars).
